Jump for Joy

Jump for Joy refers, in part, to the 1996 hit song, but also to a deeper sense of exhilaration — a mix of upbeat energy and the powerful female imagery that defined the '90s. Especially in the late '90s, when everything suddenly felt possible. It was a time of humour, self-mockery, wild invention, and endless subcultures. But also the rise of female bands, female leaders — a moment when strong, unapologetic womanhood took the stage.
